My favourite place in Hwachong
The clock tower is my favourite place in Hwa Chong. It is my favourite place in the school campus as it is the first thing people normally notice when they come into the school. I feel that it is the place that represents Hwa Chong and sticks us out as an amazing school. With Tan Kah Kee standing in front of it, it makes the tower feel that much more important and I feel that it represents everyone in the Hwa Chong family as a whole. Outsiders may view the Clock Tower as a landmark or a famous spot, but to me as a student of Hwa Chong, the iconic Tower represents my pride for Hwa Chong, which I think is the same for other students. I feel that the Tower is also part of my identity. When people tell me that I am from such a great school with a nice campus, I think that the Clock Tower is what leaves such a great impression on others. It also encompasses the spirit of Hwa Chong, which is why it is my favourite place in the campus.

Comic Strip for HBL
I chose the background to show a house as this shows that the whole sequence of events are happening in the backyard of the characters. The theme of my comic is naivity of children. The plot of my comic shows that the child does not know much and is still not very knowledgeable. This contributes to my theme as he had tried to grow an animal more than once.

Prejudice and Discrimination
The main message of the song "Where is the Love" is prejudice, discrimination and racism towards people of different skin colour. Firstly the title of the song shows that people are not treating each other equally, especially so between people of different skin colours and races. The song also demonstrates how white people have a sense of superiority and treat black people poorly. People of different races "only have love for their own race, and then they only have room to discriminate", as quoted from the song.
The part of the song that I have the strongest feelings for is the 2nd verse. People claim that everyone treats each other with love and peace, however that is not the case. Wars still occur and discrimination still exists. These ultimately affect everyone and potentially causes death as well. I think that the song 's lyrics are very meaningful and I do not think that it could be more true.
In conclusion, I think that we have to put an immediate stop to discrimination and prejudice. We should never judge anyone based on their outer appearance. Although it might not be possible to stop it immediately, we should play our part and do not be prejudice.

Term 1 Week 2 Weekend Assignment : Tron Legacy
During the December holidays I went with my family to go watch the movie Tron Legacy. I feel that this movie has actually changed what I thought about modern special effects that is used in television shows and movies. The whole theme of the movie was about life in the future and such, and it also taught me in a way how we should never take family for granted. The main example showed in the film was the main character, Sam Flynn, reacting to the disappearance of his father. The movie shows how much he was willing to do to find him and even risked his life to save his father from the virtual world that he was trapped in. I feel that this is most important as there are many things in life that we take for granted and only discover how important that thing is when it is gone. Absence makes the heart grow fonder, and this is one of the main things that this great movie has taught me.
